WaterMarc is located in the heart of Greensborough, only 150m from Greensborough Plaza shopping centre. We are the largest aquatic and leisure facility in the northern region of Victoria.

Offering you access to a fully equipped gym, exercise studios, a 50m Olympic swimming pool and three other smaller pools, including a warm water pool. Our services also include water slides, a café, and a childcare area, as well as a community meeting rooms available on the first floor.

Accessways

There are three options to access WaterMarc:

  1. A walkway called Greensborough Walk from Main Street or Flintoff Street. This is level and accessible;
  2. Via the basement in the car park via the lift;
  3. ​A Taxi Drop-off & Pickup area has been installed 5 metres to the East of the Level 3 elevators (see the picture on the page) with a 15-minute limit for taxis to wait in a prearranged place. This was done by Banyule specifically to provide access to people who require mobility assistance.

Additional Information

WaterMarc has an Inclusion officer who can provide information and advice to people with a disability to discuss ways to increase their access to the facilities and activities at WaterMarc.

Carers Card and the separate Companion Card are accepted at WaterMarc. Speak to WaterMarc customer service for information.

WaterMarc is Communication Access Accredited

Café

There is a café on the ground floor in the cultural foyer area.

This is an accessible area.

Change Rooms and Showers

WaterMarc is equipped with six accessible change rooms.

On the ground floor:

  • Warm water pool area x 1 (inc. hoist with three slings, weight limit of 180kg, and an adult change table);
  • Change Village x 2; and
  • Pook deck x 1.
Changing Places are larger than standard accessible toilets with adult-sized change tables and tracking hoists in major public spaces to meet the needs of people with high support needs.  WaterMarc is a Changing Places friendly facility and offers the accessible change facility free to people with high support needs and their carers.  A person or carer simply needs to request access at reception. 
 

On level one:

  • Gym change rooms x 1; and
  • Meeting rooms x 1.

Changing Places

Communication Access

There are pictorial communication aids on the drop down section of the counter to assist people who use alternative forms of communication.

Hearing loops are available at Watermarc.

Customer Service Area

The reception counter has a drop down section for wheelchair access. Pictorial communication aids can be found at this counter to assist people who use alternative forms of communication.

There are good paths of travel and circulation space in the customer service area and foyer.

Entrance

The entrance to Watermarc is accessible to people with various mobility requirements.

Lift

The centre has a lift and controls are illuminated and have both Braille and tactile symbols.
Entrance door is automatic.

Meeting Rooms

There are three community meeting rooms on level 1 which are accessible.

Parking

There are two designated accessible parking bays directly next to the WaterMarc lift entrance in the basement. Lighting is provided in these areas. There are an additional two designated accessible parking bays on the ground level (level 3) of the multi deck car park. The top level of the multi deck car park has six designated accessible parking bays.

There is a car park below the building providing customers direct lift access to the inside of the centre and there is also additional parking available in the Carter Reserve multi-level parking structure next to the centre. There are two accessible parking spaces available immediately outside the eastern side of the multistorey car park - these suit larger vehicles.

Pool and Spa

50 metre pool with access ramp;
Warm water program pool with access ramp (includes spa);
Leisure and Learners Pool with beach entry; and
Toddlers pool with beach entry.

Specialist Equipment

Fixed pool hoist at the warm water program pool.

Wheel chair access gym equipment.

Stairs

The stairs have handrails and nosings (colour on the edge of each step).

The stairs that connect the basement car park to Levels 1 and Level 2 are concrete and do not have coloured nosing.

Toilets

Toilets can be found within all change rooms and additionally:

  • In the foyer of the ground floor; and
  • In the meeting room zone of level 1
