Support your little one’s confidence and enjoyment of water from an early age!

Help your child to become comfortable and confident in and around the water in our Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup at WaterMarc Banyule! We believe in creating safe, enjoyable, lifelong connections to water. The Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup is a wonderful way for babies and their parents or carers to develop positive connections in a supportive social environment. 

Sessions are designed for babies aged between 3 and 6 months, catering for infant participants attending with their parents or carers. Sessions are flexible and dynamic, designed with you and your baby in mind.

We understand that your first playgroup session can be slightly daunting, but with a fully trained and accredited swim teacher present at all times, you can relax and enjoy safe and rewarding aquatic experiences with your baby.

Splish Splash sessions are held in our warm water pool at the below times:
Monday 11:15am to 11:45am & 11:45am to 12:15pm
Tuesday 12:00pm to 12:30pm (Held in Leisure Pool)
Friday 11:15am to 11:45am & 11:45am to 12:15pm

Program Benefits

Introduce the water and aquatic environment to your little one in a fun and interactive way. A fully qualified infant swim teacher will lead your playgroup through activities focused on water education for you as a parent and water familiarisation for your baby.

Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup supports building a routine when visiting the pool and makes the transition into swimming lessons easier for both parent and baby.

Our Splish Splash program is offered as casual sessions, meaning there is no commitment to weekly sessions or lock-in terms. You can come as little or as often as you like.

No - Parents/carers will be able to stand in the water at all times during the sessions. However, it is important that parents or carers bringing their babies to Splish Splash sessions must also be calm and confident in and around water.

We're happy to help our participating parents or carers learn to safely and confidently swim through our Adult Swimming Lessons program. 

No, Splish Splash is a casual class that is paid for on entry. Spots are limited per class, if at capacity you're most welcome to use the rest of our facilities with your little one.

Please ensure your child is wearing a tightfitting aqua nappy. If you don't currently have aqua nappies they can be purchased from reception. We ask that any nappy changes are done in the facilities provided not on the pool deck.

  • Splish Splash is strictly for babies aged 3-6 months.
  • Babies must wear a snug fitting aqua nappy. These are available for purchase at reception.
  • Parents/Guardians must monitor their child to ensure they are not in the water with a soiled/dirty aqua nappy.
  • Babies are not to be changed on pool deck. Parents/Guardians are asked to use the Family Change rooms.
  • At the conclusion of the class, the babies must relocate out of the Warm Water Program Pool.
  • Babies are not to be put into the Spa under any circumstances.
  • If you or your baby are unwell please do not attend the centre.
