DVE Aquatic Short Course Season Recap 2026

The short course season was a standout period for DVE Aquatic, with fast racing, athlete development, and a thriving club community. Across five major meets – including three State Championships and two DVE‑hosted events – swimmers delivered exceptional performances that highlighted both depth and momentum across the squad.

Season by the Numbers

DVE athletes put together an outstanding season, including:

• 67 gold, 47 silver, and 39 bronze medals across the state championships and DVE-hosted meets

• 373 Top‑10 finishes

• 420 personal best times, showing strong progression across all age groups

• 83,173 metres swum in total

• 14 new members joining the club community

• 100% of swimmers reporting they feel safe and welcome at DVE in the Young People Safety Survey

These results reflect not only athletic achievement but the strength of the club’s culture – one built on support, inclusion, and shared ambition.

Record‑Breaking Moments

A highlight of the season came from Jason Wang, who set a new Victorian Metro Short Course Record in the 13 year old boys 100m Butterfly. Jason’s performance continues his strong trajectory following his swim at Age Nationals in April, and his record now stands as a milestone for both DVE and the broader Victorian swimming community.

Community, Growth & Club Spirit

Beyond the results, the season was defined by connection and club pride. Watermarc saw packed stands, enthusiastic teammates, and families who brought energy to every session. The club welcomed new members, strengthened pathways for junior swimmers, and continued to build a safe, supportive environment for all athletes.

The Young People Safety Survey – completed by our swimmers – confirmed what the community already feels: DVE is a place where young people feel safe, supported, and welcome. Watermarc, as the club’s home pool, plays a central role in creating that environment, supported by coaches, volunteers, and Watermarc staff who prioritise athlete wellbeing.

With new members settling in, PB streaks continuing, and championship momentum building, DVE Aquatic heads into the long course season with confidence and excitement!
