yarra plenty waves news

2026/27 Victorian Age Short Course Championships.

With a team of just 33 athletes, Yarra Plenty Waves finished 6th overall in Victoria—a fantastic achievement against many much larger clubs.

Some of the highlights included:

·       7 individual State Champions

·       13 gold-medal performances

·       38 individual medals: 13 gold, 18 silver and 7 bronze

·       51 personal best times across the three days of finals

·       Strong performances across a wide range of strokes, distances and Multi-Class events

We were particularly proud to see both experienced athletes and swimmers making their State Championship debut contributing to the team.

These results would not be possible without a supportive training environment. On behalf of YPW, I would like to thank WaterMarc Banyule for its continued support of community sport. Access to quality facilities provides our young athletes with the opportunity to train, develop, build confidence and feel part of a strong local sporting community.
